If arriving in the Naval Weapons Station Yorktown area by plane, the nearest major airport is the Norfolk International Airport which is located about 6 miles from the base. Another major airport is the Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport which is located about 23 miles from Naval Weapons Station Yorktown. Contact the USO center at the airport for help with transportation to the base. If arriving by car, turn right onto rout 143 and continue for 6 miles. Turn right onto Old Yorktown Road and proceed another 3 miles to Gate 1 which is on the left. For military personnel needing temporary lodging, there are three options: Visitor’s Quarters which can be accessed by calling 1-877-ZUMWALT, the Navy Lodge which can be contacted at 1-800-NAVY-INN or local hotels in the community near Naval Weapons Station Yorktown.
